Inspirations.....

I find inspiration for my soaps all around me. Nature, is the best teacher.

Being outdoors most of the time, I like to take time to pause, if only for a moment and breathe in my surroundings.

Much of the flora and fauna that is right in your own back yard and neighborhood, can set off a wonderful flow of creativity.

HorsesNHoundsSoapCo launched about a month prior to the Covid-19 pandemic and our quarantine. I wondered whether to put this whole idea on hold or move forward.

Move forward-

With an autoimmune condition of my own, I had to be incredibly careful. My daily short drive to feed and care for my horses was a balm for my soul and the now daily walks with my hounds added a new perspective for inspiration in a world turned upside down.

I thought I had been in tune with nature, but I had so much more (and still do!) to learn.

What I found -

Plants and herbs that I could use for infusions, not only for cooking!!

The natural colors they provided during the soaping process always fascinated me.

I had nothing but time now. No interruptions.

I loved the freedom of making these organic choices for my ingredients, when choices were being restricted. I knew that keeping healthy and keeping my immune system strong, was priority. I knew that I wanted and needed to use only the best of ingredients in my soaps and body balms.

Keeping it "local" - finding the farmers, venders, and beekeepers that would still be selling their products during Quarantine. All of which, in this awesome group of humans, is also inspiration. Thank you to each and every one. You all have kept me inspired!

Reflecting back on the past year and a half, I have learned how important it is to keep smiling, be kind to each other and yourself.

Reach out, listen, and take that moment to appreciate nature...it can heal.

What inspires your creativity?

Take Care,

J.
